Bollywood filmmaker-produced producer Karan Johar, who was issued summons by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has replied. According to a report, Karan Johar has submitted a written reply, through his lawyer. The NCB is probing the alleged drug nexus of Bollywood, following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The agency is doing its best and has been investigating for months now. They have also questioned several Bollywood and television industry celebrities, arrested some, and alleged drug peddlers too, in the past few months.

In a significant development in the alleged Bollywood drug nexus probe, CNN-News18 reported that Karan Johar, who submitted his reply to the NCB, denied drug usage at his 2019 house party. KJo replied to the summons issued to him on Friday. He was issued the summons on Thursday. As per reports, the agency had issued a notice to Johar, over the viral video allegedly showing the drugs being consumed at the house party hosted by him, at his residence on July 28, last year.

According to the report, NCB sources confirmed that they received Karan Johar’s reply via a pen drive. The sources in the report revealed that the pen drive also contains Johar’s statement. Apart from this, the report stated that the officials confirmed that they will cross-examine and verify the producer's replies. Other than the replies, Johar has also submitted additional videos and pictures from the party, that is not on the public domain, said the report. As per the report, the agency also has received the guest list of the party, which includes the ones who were invited but didn’t attend it.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s party video saw top Bollywood stars including Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Malaika Arora. Karan Johar was summoned under 67(B) of the NDPS Act, which doesn't require physical appearance, but the person in question has to co-operate with the investigating agency. On the other hand, back when the party video was viral and accusations were made, Johar had issued a public statement, denying allegations.
