The trailer of Karan Johar’s upcoming production venture 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' was released at a grand event in Mumbai yesterday. Directed by Raj Mehta, the movie has an ensemble cast such as Kiara Advani, Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Maniesh Paul. Amidst positive response to the trailer, legal troubles seem to be pouring in for KJo. Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq has threatened to take legal action against Karan and his team for copying his Punjabi song Nach Punjaban in the film without giving him his due credit.

Abrar took to his Twitter handle and said he would go to court. He tweeted, “I have not sold my song “Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar.” The singer added the song has not been licensed to anyone and asked to produce the agreement if someone is claiming it. He also mentioned that his song Nach Punjaban was released in the early 2000s and was a chartbuster across South Asia. Karan Johar and his production house Dharma are yet to respond to this claim made by the Pakistani singer-songwriter. On a related note, Jug Jugg Jeeyo will mark veteran actress Neetu Kapoor’s comeback to movies. She was last seen in Besharam, which was released in 2013. Neetu will be seen sharing the silver space with Anil Kapoor in the same.

‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ is slated to hit the theatres on June 24 this year.
