When Hollywood
veterans, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced the wrong name for the Best
Film at Oscars 2017, Karan Johar was watching. They announced the name of
La La Land instead of Moonlight, the actual winner. What was more
embarrassing was that the cast and crew of La La Land were already up on the
stage to give their acceptance speeches and just then the presenters told them
of this blunder.
Soon the internet
was buzzing about the goof-up and how could KJo refrain from commenting?
KJo branded the
Oscars “boring”, and also criticised the organisers for the mess-up. Here is
his tweet:
And within
minutes, he was forced to delete it. Are you wondering why?
In no time,
Twitterati lashed out at him, dissing his movies as well as Bollywood award
shows, including those the filmmaker had hosted himself.
That was the most ridiculous and hysterical goof up in the history of the academy awards!!!!! #oscarbooboo

“Mujhe Laga #AeDilHaiMushkil ka naam lenge Oscar wale (sic),” was one of the responses, while another person tweeted, “First you bore us with your movies and then
make fun of the Oscar's!! At least make a movie near that calibre!! Then
talk!!(sic)”
And as soon as Karan
saw the tide turning against him, he deleted the tweet.

“U deleted that
tweet ? #Oscars pe ungli uthane se pehle apne host kiye huye awards ko dekh lo
(sic),” was another response.
Obviously, Karan
did not respond to these tweets.
