Since morning now, the news of singer Kanika Kapoor being tested positive for COVID-19 has been hitting headlines. The singer recently arrived in the country about 10 days back from the UK and also partied with her family and friends in Lucknow that supposedly saw 100 guests. As negligence allegations have been put up on Kanika Kapoor for trying to escape airport authorities and lots more, the singer finally reacts to the all the allegations in an interview after being taken to be quarantined with her family.
In an interview with India Today, Kanika Kapoor addressed all allegations put on her. The singer mentioned that she travelled to London lately to meet her children and then returned to Lucknow last week. Talking about refraining from informing her travel details to the airport authorities, Kapoor said, “ I am an educated and hardworking girl. I was part of the scanning process at the airport.” The singer mentioned that she was screened well at the airport as well, and shared that until March 9 she had no flu-like symptoms. The singer also mentioned how she called the CMO to check her for COVID-19 and said, “I also called the CMO to check me and filled all forms at the airport.”
Amidst being quarantined at the hospital, during the telephonic conversation, reacting to escaping from the airport or airport staff helped her, Kanika Kapoor shares that she finds the rumours to be comical. Kapoor also contradicted the statement made by her father that she attended three parties out of which some saw many politicians and members of the parliament. The singer said, "I attended a small get together on March 13. My father can't say this that I attended three parties. I tried my level best not to contaminate others. Throughout the past week, we were all wearing gloves.”
