Baby Doll singer Kanika Kapoor confirmed the news through her social media account that she has been tested positive for COVID-19. The singer had recently flown back to the country from the UK about 11 days back and reportedly also attended a few parties that saw about 100 guests at a luxury hotel in Lucknow. As Kanika chose to not be in self-isolation since her return, several allegations have been put on the singer for neglecting the coronavirus advisory, fleeing from security check and much more. Now, upset with Kanika’s behaviour, Sona Mohapatra took to her social media to take a dig at the singer.
On Twitter, Sona Mohapatra shared a series of tweets on how although the government has been taking preventive measures to curb the spreading of COVID-19, there are some people who are not following the rules, endangering the lives of everyone around. Sona tweeted, “The Coronavirus will explode because India is full of irresponsible idiots who ask everything from the government but do nothing in return." Lashing out at Kanika Kapoor, Mohapatra wrote, “Case in point, #KanikaKapoor hid her travel history after landing in #India (goddess knows how),attended events in Lucknow, Mumbai, went partying while staying in a 5 Glowing star & has the virus! So all of U giving me gyan about how ''simplistic'' PM''s speech was, was it really? #WeThePeople." In her tweet, Mohapatra questioned why the people are not trying to stick together and take necessary precautions when asked.
Moving on, in her series of tweets, Sona Mohapatra also took a dig at all the ministers who are busy attending events despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advice to all to stay indoors. She tweeted, “And of course the netas & leaders who talk about 'social distancing' being the only way to combat the #coronavirus but themselves attending 'parties'. Dushyant Singh,M.P & U.P health minister were with #KanikaKapoor ! Karnataka CM attended a wedding with another 2000 attending.”
