Baby Doll singer Kanika Kapoor saw the never-ending criticism from the social media users since she was diagnosed with the deadly virus Coronavirus. The singer was three times tested positive but now, she was discharged on April 6 after having completely recovered from COVID. Kapoor is currently under self-quarantine in Lucknow and having a lovely time with her family as she recently shared a picture on Instagram which saw a lot of comments urging Kanika to donate her blood plasma.
Speaking of which, we reported the Lovely singer will be donating her blood plasma to the ones who are currently Coronavirus positive, but she has wait for a little longer for the donations. Reportedly, a team of doctors from George’s Medical University (KGMU) located in Lucknow, will be collecting Kanika’s blood sample to check if she is fit to donate her blood plasma. However, due to a low haemoglobin count, the lady has to wait.
KGMU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof M L B Bhatt, told PTI, "Blood sample of Kanika Kapoor was examined and almost all parameters pertaining to plasma donation were found to be appropriate. However, the haemoglobin quantity was found less than the standard. Hence, she has to wait for a few days for plasma donation." The Head of Department of Transfusion Medicine at KGMU, Dr Tulika Chandra said, “The blood sample of Kanika Kapoor was examined for the purpose of plasma donation, and it was found positive. But she has to wait for some time.”
For the unversed, as the deadly novel Coronavirus has infected millions of people around the world, with no vaccine available to cure the deadly disease despite scientists and doctors are still struggling and exploring drugs, vaccines and multiple other treatments to fight COVID-19. Nevertheless, they discovered one treatment that could help is the plasma therapy. According to India Today, “Plasma therapy is based on the premise that blood from a recovered patient contains antibodies with the ability to fight the pathogen.”
