Thalaivii, starring actress Kangana Ranaut, is all set to be released in theatres on September 10, 2021. While the actress was overjoyed with this news, now as per reports in the Times of India, the makers have one more reason to celebrate. The biographical drama based on the life of former Tamil Nadu chief minister, late J Jayalalithaa, who was an excellent actress turned politician has now received a U certificate from the censor board. This directorial venture of Al Vijay will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
The movie was announced on Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary in 2019 and was scheduled to release on April 23, 2021. However, it got delayed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The biopic will take the audience through her cinematic career as well as political. Co-starring Arvind Swamy who plays MGR on-screen, the makers recently announced that as many as four songs of MGR and J Jayalalithaa will be recreated for the movie.
The makers have left the audience impressed with its trailer and its first song. Thalaivii marks Kangana Ranaut’s second biopic after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which was based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai.
