It was recently when a former minister from Madhya Pradesh called actor Kangana Ranaut ‘Naachney gaane wali’. However, not taking it lightly, the actor chose to give it back to him by saying how she has denied doing plenty of item numbers in the past. Calling herself a Rajput woman, Ranaut said that she doesn’t shake her rear but instead breaks bones. Well, continuing on the same, Kangana once again shared a tweet where she shared an old clip of her interview in Aamir Khan’s social show, Satyameva Jayate, saying how she taught everyone feminism many years ago.
In the video, she is talking about the portrayal of women in Indian cinema and how inappropriate words are used to describe women in the item songs. She even revealed that she has refused 6 six-item songs in the last 3-4 years. A fan shared the old video, captioning, "Oh dear Deepika you are my favourite but to say you never really thought abt causual sexism in Bollywood wn @KanganaTeam speaks agnst it is disappointing. Also Kudos to Kangana for saying it back then that she'd not entertain this in the future (from 2014)” Reacting on the same, Kangana said, “Watch this, it is many years ago in my early twenties teaching feminism to Bullywood, listen you all upcoming libru feminists, तुम जिस स्कूल में पढ़ते हो हम वहाँ के प्रिन्सिपल रह चुके हैं!”
Earlier, in an interview with Bombay Times, Kangana spoke about her views on an item song. “Well… I don’t do item numbers because there is nothing to be done in them. They are… they are obscene, they are at times unfair, most of them are sexist. What is there to be done in them? I personally feel they should be banned. I can’t be a part of something which is so toxic to us, our society, our children,” Kangana said.
