For the past few months Kangana Ranaut has been making headlines for all the controversial reasons, thanks to her limitless tweets. Late last year, Kangana Ranaut landed in legal trouble when a case was registered against Kangana and Rangoli Chandel in October at the Bandra police after a complaint was lodged against them by casting director and fitness trainer Munnawar Ali Sayyed. He accused Ranaut sisters of spreading communal hatred between two religious groups via her social media posts.
Now in the latest development, Bombay High Court has extended the interim relief of no coercive action against Kangana and her sister Rangoli Chandel till January 25. On Jan 8, Kangana was snapped at the Bandra Police station to record their statement in the matter. The court has even directed police to not summon the sister till the above-mentioned date. According to a report in ETimes, Public prosecutor Deepak Thakare told HC that the petitioners appeared before the police on January 8 from 1 pm to 3 pm.
Thakare told the Court, "She (Ranaut) left even before we could complete the interrogation, claiming she has professional commitments. We will call her again for interrogation. What is wrong in cooperating,” to which Justice Pitale said, "She (Ranaut) was there for two hours. Is this not enough? How many more hours do you (police) need for cooperation?"
On January 8, Kangana Ranaut had released a video where she spoke about being mentally, emotionally and physically tortured. In the video, Ranaut had said, “Since I have spoken up in the country’s favour, the way I have been tortured and harassed, the whole country is seeing it. My house was illegally destroyed. I am being slapped with innumerable cases everyday for speaking in favour of farmers. Someone has filed a case against me even for laughing.”
