Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. The highly opinionated Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli, known for her strong point of view, feels Adito Rao Hydari and not Tapsee Pannu should have played the protagonist in the recently released Haseen Dillruba. I wonder how she chose to see Ms Rao, beautiful and talented that she is, in the role when neither the writer nor director nor casting director of Haseen Dillruba thought of Aditi!
Anyway, when I reached out to Taapsee she brushed off the phantom-casting opinion saying, “Good that I did a character which has become aspirational for others.” Commenting on Haseena Dillruba getting better reviews than last Friday’s other release, the big but awful Hollywood franchise film The Tomorrow War, Taapsee says, “Hollywood hai na, sab chalta hai. It’s always aspirational regardless of the flaws. Yahan hum jitna marzi experiment kar le it always falls short and more, so we look “redundant” to them no matter what we do.”
Taapsee then ended sarcastically, “Maybe working out of LA will help.” Just a few days back Taapsee in an interview said that the film did go to other actresses but is thankful that they said no. "By the time I came back, I came to know the offer had already gone to someone else. I moved on to other projects. A few months later Kanika called me to come to her office urgently. The last time she asked me to come to her office it was to narrate Manmarziyan. I had this big smile on my face when she narrated me Haseen Dillruba. When you want something really badly the universe conspires to get it for you. Haseen Dillruba went around and then came to me. I am thankful to the actresses who said no playing Rani Kashyap," she added.
