Kangana Ranaut's Plea On Seeking Damages Resumes At Bombay High Court; Bench Says, 'If BMC Acted With Such Swiftness Bombay Would Be A Better Place'

For the past one month, actress Kangana Ranaut has been grabbing headlines for various reasons, mostly for her tussle with the BMC officials after comparing the city of dreams to Pakistan occupied Kashmir. So much so that, the officials even razed a few parts of her Pali Hill office, Manikarnika Films, claiming it to be an illegal construction. The actress was in Manali due to the lockdown but before she set her foot in Mumbai, BMC began the demolition until the court-ordered stay in the matter. Later, the Queen actress moved the court seeking Rs 2 crore for the damages that were done during the process of demolition conducted by Mumbai’s civic body. Nonetheless, according to a report in TOI, the hearing of Kangana Ranaut's plea on seeking damage cost for her office resumed today at Bombay High Court.
 
As they resumed hearing today at the High Court, the Bench stated, “In our first order itself we have said if they acted with such swiftness Bombay would be a better place.” After Kangana Ranaut issued a notice to BMC demanding damage compensation for the damage done to her property, BMC filed an affidavit and urged the court to dismiss the actress' plea of seeking damage costs. The civic body said it was an abuse of the process of law. Not only that, but BMC also asked the court to impose a cost on her for filing such a plea.
 
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana Ranaut has quite a few interesting films in the pipeline. The actress will be seen playing The former Chief Minister of Jayalalithaa in her biopic, Thalaivi. She will also play the titular role of Indian Air Force pilot Tejas and Dhaakad.
