We wonder how Kangana Ranaut has not yet spoken (busy giving quotes on Karni Sena?) on the man who solidly stood behind her when she made drastic changes in her uocoming Manikarnika, which consequently shot its budget over the roof and Zee quietly (but mysteriously) bore the brunt.  Kamal Jain is very critical in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital and doctors are trying their best to save him. Kamal suffered a paralytic stroke and was rushed to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, we hear he has been put on ventilator. Kamal was the CFO at Eros before he moved out to produce films independently. He joined hands with Neeraj Pandey in tbe Dhoni biopic and had excitedly met me then at J W Marriott (Juhu)- but soon fell apart with Team Pandey and found himself in no man's land. He used to often tell me that I will see his name in the credits of the Dhoni biopic but I knew he was just being brave. And then Manikarnika happened for him. He was very happy and remained proud of the film, no matter the hiccups it went through.

Kamal stood behind Kangana like a rock and moved all mountains to convince Zee to bear the extra budget, which is believed to have touched 100 cr. Now this means that the film has to collect about 200 cr to be called a hit. And buzz suggests, that the overbudget expenditure also means that Kamal has to pay a certain amount to Zee. The stress was definitely there (ab natural hai, chahe aap maane yaa na maane) but we don't know if that had an adverse effect on him, or is it that it was something that just struck out of the blue?

We wish Kamal Jain a speedy recovery. And we so keenly want Kamal's dream Manikarnika to touch heights. Come on, Kamal. Films are not the be-all and end-all of life, there's life beyond those arc lights. Get well soon and let's catch up for a coffee at J W again!
