Filmmaker and actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is all set to make her comeback on the big screens with her much-awaited film Emergency. Based on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the film will be released on the big screens on September 6, 2024. Apart from essaying the lead role in the movie and co-producing it, Ranaut has also directed the project. Recently, during the trailer launch of her upcoming film, she opened up about being singled out by certain groups in the Hindi entertainment industry and how Salman Khan is one of the misunderstood actors in Bollywood.
Kangana is known to never leave a stone unturned when it comes to sharing her professional experiences of unfair treatment by the ‘Bollywood mafia’s’ as she calls them, the actress during a recent interaction revealed that certain ‘negative people’ that are hostile toward ‘outsiders’ like her, perceive her as danger. She added how she chooses to ignore all that and keep on progressing toward the path of success because of her fans. She went on to shared that she can relate to Salman Khan’s ‘struggle of being misinterpreted’ in Bollywood.

The Tanu Weds Manu actress went on to sympathise with Khan and stated that people who see him as their competitor have evil thoughts about him. She said, “Jin logon ko unse pyaar hai, unse pyaar hai. Ab jin logon ki aankhon mein woh khatakte hain, woh to unse nafrat karenge hi. Jo log unki competition ke hain ya film industry walon ki baat kar rahe hain, na unki aankhon mein to woh khatkeinge. Hum unki jagah pe hone chahiye ya woh uss jagah pe kyun hai, to aise to logon ki aankhon mein woh khatkeinge.”
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Tejas. The movie failed to impress the audience as well as the critics and it tanked at the box office. She will be next seen in Emergency. Not only is the movie her first solo directorial, but she will also be essaying the role of India’s late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, set to release on September 6, 2024. The release date of the movie was postponed due to her political commitments. Apart from that, she also has a few other projects in her pipeline.
