Kangana Ranaut and Ketan Mehta are in the middle of a headline grabbing legal tangle, with the National Award winning filmmaker claiming that the actress “hijacked” his passion project, a biopic on Rani Lakshmi Bai.
In an exclusive interview to SpotboyE.com, Ketan had claimed that Kangana took the project away from him with the help of producer Kamal Jain, while he was recuperating from an injury.
“I had shared all the information and designs with her. I had committed one-and-half year of mine to it already. Kangana has done nothing but hijacked my intellectual work,” Ketan had told us.
Now that we had heard Ketan’s side, the ethics of journalism demanded that we also get Kangana’s side of the story.

Especially as the controversy queen has found herself cornered from all sides recently. First Apurva Asrani attacked her on social media, claiming that she unfairly usurped writing credits of the upcoming film Simran.
Soon, Ketan Mehta sent her a legal notice.
When we contacted Kangana, she immediately sent us an official statement through her lawyer.
Here is Kangana’s response to Ketan’s allegations: “1.There is no similarity in the story and screenplay of Mr. Mehta and the story and screenplay of my Producers Kamal Jain.
2.He is free to make the film, as is anyone else based on a revered historical figure, Rani Lakshmi Bai.
3.Our lawyers have sent an interim response to Mr. Mehta's lawyers.
4. There are no contracts or agreements signed with Mr. Mehta ever.”
