Bollywood’s Queen Kangana Ranaut is all set to spell her magic on the silver screen with the upcoming biopic ‘Emergency’. She is not just playing the lead role in the film, but she is also directing and producing it. Kangana will be seen essaying the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the same and to get into the skin of her role she has pulled off every possible means. The actress has begun the shoot of ‘Emergency’ and strongly feels that “this will click with the audience.”
Speaking with ANI, the Tanu Weds Manu actress opened up about her forthcoming biopic and said she believes that her instinct as a filmmaker will pay off big time. She was quoted saying, "They want to involve themselves much more with the narrative and the narrative should also be focused on them. The Emergency is an undeniable part of recent history and I feel that this will click with the audience.” She added, “It’s not that people don’t want content, they want to see young filmmakers, new thought process, and refreshing ideas and not the stale typical formula films. A few days ago, Kangana treated fans to her first look from the film and she looked quite promising as Indira Gandhi. She also shared a small teaser where she mentioned that “Tell American President that everyone calls me sir in the office, not madam.” ‘Emergency’ is produced under the banner of her production house Manikarnika Films. The film brings onboard Oscar-winning makeup artist David Malinowski to help Kangana achieve the desired look.
Apart from this, she also has upcoming movies like Tejas, Tiku Weds Sheru, and Tanu Weds Manu Returns 3 in the lineup.
