Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut made an announcement about the sequel titled Manikarnika Returns; The Legend of Didda, of her 2019 film some months back. After her announcement, book author Ashish Kaul, who wrote Didda-Kashmir Ki Yodha Rani, accused the actress of ‘blatantly violating rights’. In a copyright infringement case filed against Kangana Ranaut, according to the latest report, Ashish Kaul has written a letter to Mumbai Police, seeking speedy justice and an update. Ashish requested information regarding the case against the actress.

According to a report in ETimes, Ashish Kaul has written to Khar Police station to take an update on the case. In his letter through his lawyer, Ashish mentioned that he has no information about the progress of the case. He also mentioned that he has no information on whether the notice has been served to the Manikarnika actress. His letter was addressed to the senior inspector of Khar Police station seeking a follow-up on the case.

For the unversed, Ashish Kaul claimed that he has the sole copyright of the biography on Didda: The Warrior Queen. He alleged that Kangana and her team stole his story. The author, in an interview, said that he was taken by surprise after Kangana’s announcement on Manikarnika Returns. The author mentioned that he sent a legal notice to the actress as well as producer Kamal Jain but did not receive any response in return.

Meanwhile, Ashish Kaul recently approached Mumbai Court, asking Mumbai Police to file a case of copyright infringement against Kangana. The court then directed the police to do the needful and lodge a case against the accused. On the work front, Kangana Ranaut has film Thalaivi, Dhaakad, Tejas, the sequel of Manikarnika and other films in the pipeline.
