Speaking to a leading daily, Kangana said, “Yes, I will play an 80-year-old woman in my first directorial, Teju. She is a warm, vibrant woman, full of life, who doesn’t feel old at all.” Her character may have her legs hanging in grave but she is still not ready to leave the world.
Not only will Kangana direct the film but she will also be scripting it. It is said that the film will give impetus to topics like mortality. However, it won't be in the typical dark and depressing way.
“These are questions that all of us ask ourselves and each other from time to time. We will explore them in a light-hearted manner in my film dappled with the sunshine of Teju’s personality. Teju will showcase Himachali life and culture which have largely gone unexplored in our mainstream cinema as filmmakers only use my part of the country as a beautiful setting for their songs. My film will be a visual treat but it will also give you a glimpse into my life before Bollywood, into the real Kangana whom few have known in all these years,” adds Kangana.
Teju will go on floors in December and will be shot in Himalayas. Kangana is targeting for a 2018-end release.
Kangana Ranaut In Manikarika The Queen Of Jhansi biopic
Kangana is busy with the dubbing of her next film Simran, and is also simultaneously doing the pre-production work for Manikarnika. However, both these films are shrouded by controversies. Besides the unsolved mystery of Simran’s real writer, Ketan Mehta has also filed a lawsuit against Kangana, recently, for hijacking his film based on Rani Lakshmi Bai.
Well, we just hope there are no skeletons in the cupboard for Teju as well.
