Kangana Ranaut’s last film Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi braved through several controversies. After Krrish left the project, Kangana took over the directorial reins, which of course, didn’t go down well with several actors from the film, including the original filmmaker himself.
However, all that is a thing of the past
now, as the actress is geared up to announce her next film as a director. In a
statement, Kangana has said, “I’m on the verge of announcing my next
directorial venture. It’s an action film — an epic drama. It has taken a lot of
my time. Currently, we are putting everything in order, but we have locked the
script. We’ll be doing a photoshoot, soon after, which we plan to release the
poster, too.
There are a lot of great stories to be told
and actresses today are bringing a lot of business, too. I’m happy with the way
Manikarnika worked for me — as an actor and also as a director. Now is the
right time to start work on my second directorial project.”
Kangana stated that movies with women in
lead roles don’t receive hefty budgets. The actress will next be seen in Ekta
Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya opposite Rajkummar Rao, followed by Ashwiny Iyer
Tiwari’s Panga.
