Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is one such star who is known to speak her mind on social media. She is very active on her Instagram handle and often shares her views on political and social issues. On Tuesday, the Queen actress came out in support of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and condemned death threats against her. Kangana advised people to take the legal route instead of playing the ‘don themselves.’  

For the unversed, On Sunday, the BJP government suspended Nupur and expelled its Delhi unit media head Naveen Kumar Jindal following the row over their alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad escalated with protests from some Muslim countries. Extending her support to Nupur, Kangana took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Nupur is entitled to her opinions, I see all kinds of threats targeted at her, when Hindu Gods are insulted which they are almost every day we go to court, pls do that no need to play dons yourself...(sic).” She added, “This is not Afghanistan, we have a proper functioning government which is chosen with a process called democracy... Meanwhile, in the latest development, Delhi Police has provided security to Nupur Sharma and her family after she claimed to have received death threats. FIR was registered on Nupur’s complaint that she has been getting death threats over her controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad. 

 The suspended BJP spokesperson made derogatory comments against Prophet Mohammad during a TV debate nearly 10 days ago. In its aftermath, Muslim groups in countries like Kuwait, Qatar, and Iran, staged protests and slammed Nupur’s controversial remarks.
