Nikhil Advani had planned to get into television last year. The Kal Ho Naa Ho director had even approached Rishi Kapoor for a role in a political series. What happened?

We popped the question when we met him last week. Nikhil whose Imran Khan-Kangana Ranaut starrer Katti Batti is up for release, replied, "I still want to do television but I don't want to be a maker who directs four episodes and then hands it down to the assistant. I want to do something path-breaking on TV which India is not ready for right now. I started with Nukkad under the tutelage of Sayeed and Aziz Mirza. I can't malign their names."

A case of 'Look before you leap'. Right Nikhil?
