Bollywood actress Kajol never shies away when it comes to sharing funny little anecdotes about her family. Currently basking in the success of her debut web-series The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha, she recently spoke about her wedding day. Having tied the knot with actor Ajay Devgn in February 1999, she opened up about the entire experience during a post-release promotion interview. She revealed that while she was very calm on her wedding day, she became restless during the ceremony.
In an interview with Curly Tales, when asked about her wedding day, Kajol recalled how her entire wedding was organised by her two sisters. They had looked after everything themselves, from “flowers, people to invitations, everything,” adding that her wedding was an intimate ceremony with not more than 50 guests. She shared that everyone around her was stressed out, however she was calm and had a bath. Quoted by BollywoodShaadis, she added, “I sat down for my makeup which Mickey Contractor was doing and was fine and ready. The 48-year-old actress went on to reveal that she became restless during the wedding ceremonies as it was “taking so long.” For the unversed, they had gotten married in two customs - a Maharshtrian wedding and the regular Saath Pheras. She added during the interview that even though she wasn’t stressed out she was getting restless by sitting in one place for too long. The media portal quoted her saying, “I’d tell Ajay to tell the pundit, ‘Just hurry up please!’ It was taking so long, and we got married in two customs– we had the Maharashtrian wedding and the regular ‘saath pheras’ . I was not stressed out. I was like, ‘Just hurry up now, I can’t sit here for too long!’”
Having tied the knot in 1999, the happy couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, Nysa Devgan in 2003 and their second child, a son, Yug Devgan in 2010. While the boy, just like his father, likes to keep a low profile, Nysa is often seen by the netizens out and about the city.
On the work front, Kajol was last seen in Lust Stories 2 and The Trial - Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. She will be collaborating with her Dilwale co-star Kriti Sanon, for her maiden production Do Patti. The suspense thriller will be released on Netflix and will be based in the mesmerising hills of North India. She also has an untitled project with Dharma Productions, co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan in her pipeline.
