Bad news for those who were waiting to see the talent powerhouse, Kajol, rekindle the magic on-screen with her film, Helicopter Eela on Sep 7. The film’s release date has been pushed to October 12. Reason for the delay is film’s director, Pradeep Sarkar being down with dengue. The director was diagnosed with the disease, a few days back.

Trade Analyst, Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the new release date. He wrote, “New release date for#HelicopterEela: 12 Oct 2018... Since director Pradeep Sarkar is diagnosed with dengue, Ajay Devgn has taken a decision to resume work on the film after Sarkar is discharged from hospital... Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada have now shifted the film to 12 Oct.”

Ajay Devgn, producer of Helicopter Eela, reportedly decided to wait for Sarkar to recover fully before they start the post-production work on the film. The director, who shot for Amitabh Bachchan’s cameo in the film, while he was down with dengue, was discharged from hospital yesterday (Aug 23). Reportedly, he had taken special permission from hospital to shoot the scenes with Big B. As the megastar had already given the date of Aug 14, and could not accommodate, the director decided to leave treatment mid-way and shoot the cameo.

According to a leading daily, Devgn made provisions of an ambulance at stand-by along with a doctor at the Andheri studio premises, where the shoot took place. Also, since Ajay was not in town the day shoot was taking place, wife Kajol made sure that the shooting schedule ran smoothly and Sarkar got exactly what he required. The daily further stated that Pradeep still had the IV drip needle inserted while he was completing Bachchan's shoot.
