Sushant Singh Rajput, who rose to fame with Ekta Kapoor’s TV show Pavitra Rishta, had made his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che. The film that also starred Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh in the lead roles, received many accolades and awards for its gripping plot and storyline. The film that had been released on February 22, 2013, marks 8 years of its successful release today. And on the occasion, Rajkummar Rao walked down the memory and penned a note while remembering Sushant.

Rajkummar Rao’s heartfelt note read, “A film that allowed the actor in me to grow, to be more empathetic, celebrating the 8 years of Kai Po Che. As if it was yesterday when Sushant, Amit and I were shooting for the film. You are being missed my dearest @sushantsinghrajput @theamitsadh @amupuri @abhishekapoor #suatikSen #sidrovka.r #ronniescrewyala Ocastingchhabni #8yearsofkaipoche”

Earlier, speaking to Bombay Times director Abhishek Kapoor had spoke on his association with Sushant Singh Rajput. He had told the portal, “I’d never seen any of Sushant’s previous works before casting him. Back then, the industry wasn’t very accepting of television actors. But post Rock On!!, people had faith in me and I just went for it As for the efforts, there wasn’t any out-of-the-ordinary effort involved when it came to moulding Sushant. He was just fabulous right from the start and from the first day itself I knew we’re going to fly together. It was a scene where he teaches the students about knocking the bat and I could gauge from his body language that he had just sunk his teeth into this character.”

SSR had then reunited with Kapoor for Kedarnath which marked Sara Ali Khan’s debut. Speaking about same Gattu Kapoor further added, “He was definitely a different person. You get moulded as you trudge along the business. But he brought so much to both the parts that in hindsight, I cannot even begin to imagine anyone else essaying the roles. He was an intense actor and used to research his roles well enough to know the characters like the back of his hand.” (ALSO READ: Sushant Singh Rajput Starrer Kai Po Che Clocks 8 Years; Director Abhishek Kapoor Remembers Fond Memories With Late Actor: ‘He Was Just Fabulous’)
