While the nation continues to reel with the untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, news of another suicide case is already making headlines. Bollywood actor Asif Basra has allegedly died by suicide. Yes, you heard that right! Asif Basra, who has been a part of many Bollywood films like SSR-led Kai Po Che, Black Friday, Jab We Met, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Krrish 3, Hichki, and many others. He was last seen in Ronit Roy-Tisca Chopra led Hostages 2 in September. According to a report in News18 Hindi, Asif Basra has taken the drastic step in Dharmshala. He was 53.
As per online reports, Asif has been living in a rented apartment in McLeodganj for the last 5 years. The reason behind the drastic step is not known yet however, SP of Kangra has confirmed the news. The News18 Hindi report reveals that Asif was suffering from depression. It is being said that Asif was living in with a foreign woman from the UK in that rented apartment. Today morning, Asif had reportedly taken his pet dog out, and soon after he came back home. He hung himself trapped with his dog belt. The initial investigation revealed that he was a victim of depression.
Confirming the case, SP Vimukt Ranjan of Kangra said that the police have begun investigating the case.
Asif Basra’s Kai Po Che co-star Sushant Singh Rajput left everyone numb when news of him dying by suicide made headlines. Sushant allegedly hung himself at his Bandra west abode on June 14. As it will soon be 5 months since his sad demise, SSR fans have been fighting hard to get justice served.
