Only recently, there were speculations of meetings between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the heads of digital platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime, in order to restrict these streaming giants from airing anything that is against the Hindu culture or portrays them in a bad light. In fact, they rather asked them to broadcast stories that “represent real Indian culture and ethos”. At the 21st Jio MAMI Film Festival, filmmaker Kabir Khan attended a panel discussion called “Films as an agent of social change”. And that’s where he was asked if Bollywood directors and writers are being put under similar pressures of making pro-Indian, pro-Hindu content. (ALSO READ - Ranveer Singh Breaks Down The Moment He Picks The World Cup In '83, Director Kabir Khan Reveals The Reason)

Kabir Khan responded by saying that while no one has said anything of that sort to him; however, he admits that such situations are indeed happening across the country. The filmmaker added that he won’t be surprised if someday, somebody asks him to do that (make pro-Hindu, pro-Indian content). “I think they know how I'll react so they aren't saying it right now. But yes, we are absolutely living in times where anything can be said," he added. Further, Kabir Khan stated that won’t really stop him from making the kind of films he wants to. "I don't have any fear. You have to keep doing things that you love and believe in. Be happy about what you are making and rest will fall into place," said Kabir.

Well, this doesn’t come as a surprise because Kabir Khan has always been vocal and honest about his opinions and his tweets are often a mirror to his thoughts.  On the work front, Kabir Khan’s latest film is titled 83, which chronicles the Indian cricket team’s victory during the 1983 World Cup, and stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
