The year 2020 is among the worst ones ever. For Bollywood especially, this year is turning out to be a nightmare. In six months, the Indian film industry lost its gems like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Wajid Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Saroj Khan, actor Jagdeep and a few more. Now, another name has been added to the list. Yesteryear actress Kumkum is no more. She passed away at the age of 86. Actor Johnny Walker's son revealed the news through a tweet.
Johnny Walker's son Nassir Khan wrote on Twitter, "Yesteryear's film actress KUMKUM aunty, passed away, she was 86. she did so many films; songs & dances were picturized on her. did so many movies opposite dad #johnnywalker." Later, Naved Jafri too mourned the death of actress Kumkum. He wrote, "We have lost another gem. I have known her since I was a kid and she was family, a superb artist and a fantastic human being, innalillahe wa innailaihe raajeoon. Rest in peace kunkum aunty #ripkumkum #kumkum." It was not very long ago that Naved lost his father and well-known actor Jagdeep Bhopali.
Kumkum is said to have appeared in more than 100 films. She was the one who appeared in Guru Dutt's song Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar Laaga Teere Nazar. Her filmography includes the famous films like other India, Kohinoor, Ujala, Ek Sapera Ek Lootera, Naya Daur, Raja Aur Runk, Geet, Aankhen, Lalkar and many more. She also appeared in the song Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi from Mr X In Bombay.
