Rajinikanth’s much-awaited Kabali hit the theatres today. Aurora theatre in Matunga, Mumbai is pretty much the bastion for all his fans. And the madness outside the theatre had to be seen to be believed.
Countless fans of Rajinikanth, dressed in t-shirts with the superstar’s face printed on them, gathered this morning. It was Rajinikanth mania at its peak – the fans danced away as the superstar’s songs blared out from the speakers.
The procession first headed to Sri Sankara Mattham temple, where they conducted the paal abhishekam – a ritual where a huge cut-out of Rajinikanth was bathed in milk. The procession then proceeded to the theatre.
The hype around the film is at an all-time high. Now, it remains to be seen if the hype translates into huge collections at the box-office.
