Apart from shooting in Delhi, the film will also be shot in many
foreign locales. Ali is currently in Marrakesh, Morocco for the recce of the
first schedule.
Tiger Zinda Hai will be Ali's second film with Salman. They
recently worked together in Sultan (2016), which was the second highest grosser
of 2016.
Tiger Zinda Hai is supposed to be a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger
(2012), which was directed by Kabir Khan. There was news about a fallout
between Kabir and Salman during the shoot of Tubelight but Kabir finally put
rest to it all by attending Salman’s 51st birthday bash held in the superstar's
Panvel farmhouse (Kabir Khan Attends Salman Khan’s 51ST Birthday Party,
Signals All Is Well!, Dec 27).
Kabir was the first choice to direct the sequel but he withdrew from the
project since he now wants to be the Line Producer to all his directorials.
However, Yash Raj Films (YRF), the producer of Tiger Zinda Hai, did not allow
this to happen since it was against their company's policy (Why Kabir Khan Is
Not Directing Ek Tha Tiger Sequel, Sep 21).
Tiger Zinda Hai is expected to hit theatres in December 2017.
