JUST IN: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap Arrives At Versova Police Station For Questioning In Payal Ghosh's #MeToo Case Against Him

It was recently that actress Payal Ghosh came out with her #MeToo story. Shockingly, she accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. After accusing him of #MeToo in a video shared on social media, she then approached Versova Police, Mumbai to file a case against the filmmaker. Yesterday, as per reports, the police sent in summons to the Gangs of Wasseypur director and called him for the interrogation. Following the same, Anurag Kashyap has now reached Versova Police Station.

As per the latest visuals making their way to social media, Anurag Kashyap is in Versova Police station for questioning. He was spotted entering the police station holding a bunch of papers. Earlier, after Payal Ghosh shared her #MeToo story, Anurag Kashyap had shared his lawyer's statement on Instagram, in which he categorically denied all the allegations made against him.

The statement read, "My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him. These allegations are completely false, malicious and dishonest. It is sad that a social movement as important as the #MeToo movement has been co-opted by vested interests and reduced to a mere tool for character assassination. Fictitious allegations of this nature seriously undermine the movement and seek to unconscionably trade upon the pain and trauma of the actual victims of sexual harassment and abuse. My client has been fully advised of his rights and remedies in law and intends to pursue them to the fullest extent."


Later, as an FIR was lodged, Payal Ghosh was called in for interrogation. The actress had expressed anger through social media saying that instead of the director, she who has filed a complaint, is being summoned for questioning.
