Director Sanjay Gupta is all set to start shooting for his much-anticipated film Mumbai Saga, which was announced 2 months back. He says this has been one of his most ambitious projects till now with a huge cast including John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar among others. The director Sanjay Gupta who is known for his films like Kaante, Musafir, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Kaabil, has said that this will be one of his most ambitious projects up till date. According to the director, after 25 years, 17 films later he has to give his audience something bigger at better. Mumbai Saga will be by far the most ambitious projects of the director.
Without telling much and spilling the beans if the movie focuses on a particular episode, Sanjay said, "The film is based on the events between the mid-’80s and ’90s. The story revolves around how the mills in Mumbai were shut down to make malls and high rise buildings which in turn changed the whole landscape of our city.”
The director has planned to shoot the film over a span of a three-month schedule in South Bombay. "South Mumbai retains the old charm of the city and we are planning to shoot it in one go, wrap the film by the first week of December. Only the climax won’t be shot in Mumbai because we need an air-strip for that sequence,” revealed Sanjay Gupta.
Bhushan Kumar produced, the film will release on June 19,
2020, and will show us all that went into transforming Bombay to Mumbai.
