The violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday night, has sparked outrage among people and saw protests across the nation against the brutal attack. In the midst of it all, Bollywood was largely being criticized for not raising their voice on important national issues. Save a few, not many Bollywood celebrities have spoken up about it and chose to remain mum. Swara Bhasker, Riteish Deshmukh, Rajkummar Rao condemned the violence, while just last night, Deepika Padukone visited JNU and showed solidarity with the students. In the wake of JNU violence, Amitabh Bachchan’s tweet with folded hands paved way for criticism of the megastar’s mute stand. Now, a similar cryptic tweet by Abhishek Bachchan has caused the same reaction on Twitter.

Just hours after Amitabh Bachchan’s tweet with folded hands emoji, came Abhishek Bachchan’s tweet with a peace out/ victory emoji. This tweet definitely left everyone confused, but once again, Jr Bachchan also faced backlash for not taking a stand and remaining silent. Many compared his tweet to his father’s, while a lot of people raised questions as to what’s peaceful or victorious about all that’s happening right now? One tweet read, “Papa maafi maang rahe hai ye victory dikha raha hai .bhaisaab koi batayega chal Kya raha hai,” while another tweet read, “Will you ever speak in Favour of JNU, AMU, JMU.. Students ??? Remember Aiglon College in Switzerland & Boston University. Grow some spine.” Take a look at some of the reactions: ALSO READ: JNU Violence: Amitabh Bachchan Faces Backlash After His Cryptic Tweet, Twitterati Calls Him Spineless, Asks ‘Zameer Kaha Hai?’
