Actor Vedang Raina is eagerly awaiting the release of his upcoming Bollywood film Jigra, in which he stars alongside Alia Bhatt. The film, directed by Vasan Bala and produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in collaboration with Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, is set to hit theaters on October 11. Jigra tells the emotional story of a sister, played by Alia, who goes to extraordinary lengths to protect her brother, portrayed by Vedang.

Recently, Vedang opened up about the emotional and mental challenges he faced while filming certain intense scenes for the movie, particularly those set in a jail. Speaking to Times Now, Vedang shared how deeply the character affected him, stating that the experience was mentally taxing. “It was extremely traumatic,” he explained, adding, “Whenever I think of the time when I was on set shooting, especially the jail sequences, I feel like I had become a different human being. I was putting myself through a lot mentally.”

The actor also shed light on how he prepared for the role, highlighting the difficulty of immersing himself in emotions he had never experienced before. "I did a lot of prep to get into that headspace because I was dealing with an emotion I’ve obviously never felt before—being in jail and waiting for your death,” he said. To capture the depth of his character’s emotional turmoil, Vedang turned to documentaries on prisons and death row inmates, which helped him tap into the intensity required for the role.

In addition to his acting, Vedang has contributed musically to the film by lending his voice to a modern rendition of the classic song Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka, adding a special touch to the film’s soundtrack. Jigra promises to be an emotionally gripping drama, and with Vedang’s intense performance and Alia Bhatt’s powerful portrayal of a fiercely protective sister, the film is set to be a highly anticipated release in 2024.
