The Jiah Khan death case has been going on since the past 4 year. With every passing day, the case goes filthier and murkier. The latest happening in the case may just be bad news for Sooraj Pancholi.

Yes, the Bombay High Court has ordered the lower court to proceed a trial against Sooraj on the charges of abetting to suicide of Jiah. "We make it clear that proceedings in the trial court not stayed. The trial can go on against the accused person," said the High Court last evening.

Jiah Khan Committed Suicide In 2013

The decision came after a division bench of justices RM Savant and Sandeep Shinde were hearing a petition, which had been filed by Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan. The petition was filed in order to change the public prosecutor from CBI's side, who are handling the case now. Rabia wanted advocate Dinesh Tiwari as the public prosecutor as she did not want the prosecuting agency's (CBI) counsel to conduct the trial on behalf of her as she did not agree with the CBI’s conclusion that Jiah had committed suicide. Rabia has time and again claimed that Jiah was murdered by Sooraj.

For those who've come in late, Jiah had committed suicide on June 3, 2013. Her then actor boyfriend Sooraj was arrested for abetting her suicide on June 10, 2013, but released on July 2 the same year after the High Court granted him bail. In July 2014, the case was transferred to the CBI on Rabia’s petition that police was not probing it properly. However, when the CBI filed a charge sheet in the case and booked Sooraj on abetment charges, Rabia again petitioned the court seeking a Special Investigation Team to be set up to probe the case afresh. Rabia was against the CBI’s concurrence with the findings of Mumbai police that it was a case of suicide and not homicide.

Let's wait and watch what the Lower Court decides to do with Sooraj Pancholi - he may get free and get acquitted of all charges, but he may also be found guilty and put behind the bars. Only time will say.
