Veteran Bollywood actor Javed Khan Amrohi left for his heavenly abode on Monday evening. The actor breathed his last at the age of 60 due to lung failure. He passed away in Surya Nursing Home in Santacruz, Mumbai where he had been admitted. It is being reported that the veteran was suffering from breathing problems and had been bed-ridden for the past year.
India.com quoted a source by W-Times saying, "Javed Khan was admitted to Surya Nursing Home, Santacruz, where he breathed his last. His both lungs failed. Today at 6.30 pm the supurde-e-khak ceremony will be performed at Oshiwara cemetery."

Bollywood flooded social media with messages mourning the loss of the veteran. Taking to Facebook, Akhilesh Mishra wrote, "Humble tribute Javed Khan sir. Best actor, senior artist, active member of IPTA."
In an interaction with ETimes, filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi expressed his shock at the news. He said, "My heartfelt condolences on his demise and may his soul rest in peace." Veteran actor Tiku Talsani told the entertainment media publication, "He was always the first one to try something new during the shoot. It is a very sad thing that has happened. I shall pray for him."
For the unversed, the actor was known for his exceptional works in movies like Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, Andaaz Apna Apna, Ishq, Lagaan, Chak De! India. He was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in the 2001's critically acclaimed movie Lagaan. The late veteran also worked as an acting professor at the Zee Institute of Media Arts.
