After debuting with Dharma Productions' Dhadak, Janhvi Kapoor signed Karan Johar’s next, Takht. There was a strong buzz since quite some time that Janhvi's 3rd film is also with Karan Johar and it will be a biopic of Gunjan Saxena, India's first female combat aviator, who played a pivotal role during the 1999 Kargil war. And now there is an update on the same.
According to
Bollywood Hungama, the film not only has Janhvi in lead but it will see the
actress romancing South sensation, Dulquer Salmaan, in it. That's right,
reportedly the actor, who was last seen in Hindi film Karwaan with Irrfan Khan
and is currently shooting for The Zoya Factor opposite Sonam Kapoor, will
romance late Sridevi's daughter in the biopic.
Talking
about Janhvi, a source close to the makers told Bollywood Hungama, “Karan Johar
thinks Janhvi has the right posture and attitude to play Gunjan Saxena. No,
Janhvi won’t actually fly a helicopter in the film. But she is going to learn
how the helicopter works so she looks comfortable inside a helicopter.”
Meanwhile,
Dulquer's last stint in Bollywood, Karwaan, didn't do a great business at the
box-office. In an earlier interview with Indian Express, Dulquer had spoken
about being worried about his accent, which he considered as a hitch.
"While I am fluent in Hindi, I was a little worried about my accent. So
when I was approached for Karwaan, I told them they need to first listen to me
speak in Hindi, in case it sounds off." told the Malyalam actor to the
website. Looks like Dulquer passed the test already as Karan surely doesn't see
that as a problem.
