In a recent nostalgic moment, Janhvi Kapoor reminisced about her Dhadak days and disclosed her desire to maintain a sense of independence from her late mother, Sridevi. The 26-year-old revealed that during the early stages of her debut acting project, she deliberately refrained from seeking her mom's assistance or allowing her mother to visit her on set. This choice stemmed from Janhvi's inclination to carve her path independently as she embarked on her journey in the world of acting.

During her appearance at Agenda Aajtak, the Good Luck Jerry star expressed deep emotions as she revisited the filming days of her debut project, Dhadak. Reflecting on that time, she recounted purposefully refraining from seeking assistance from her mother, the late legend Sridevi. She clarified that this choice arose from her belief that having access to the incredible talent and guidance of her mom who is one of India's finest actresses, would grant her an "unfair advantage," a situation she wanted to avoid during her initial foray into acting.
Speaking about it Janhvi said, “I went on a different trip and thought I wouldn’t take any help from her. If she acted a certain way, I would do the complete opposite.." She further went on to reveal her perspective on why she didn't want to take mom's help and said, "How many people have access to Sridevi Kapoor, who is the best actor to come out of India? I used to feel that it’s already an unfair advantage."
Earlier, Janhvi Kapoor starred opposite actor Varun Dhawan in the film Bawaal. Presently, the actress has several exciting projects in her pipeline. Among them are Mr and Mrs Mahi and Ulajh, showcasing the diversity and range of her upcoming ventures.
