Jacqueline Fernandez has been facing a rough patch in her career ever since her name cropped up in the investigation related to the Rs. 200 Crore extortion case involving Sukesh Chandrasekhar. In their complaint, ED accused the Kick actress of taking expensive gifts from the conman. Now as per the latest update on this case, Jacqueline on Tuesday appeared before a Patiala House court in Delhi for a hearing. The actress has moved an application seeking permission to travel to Bahrain from December 23.

Reportedly, the court has asked ED to file a reply and listed the matter for December 22. Not just Fernandez, Sukesh Chandrasekhar also appeared for the hearing today. ANI shared a video of the actress arriving at the Patiala House Court on their Twitter handle. During her cross-questioning with ED, the Ram Setu actor had earlier revealed she received 4 bags from Gucci, Chanel, Saint Laurent, Dior, 2 shoes from Louis Vuitton and Louboutin, 2 outfits from Gucci, perfumes, 4 cats, a Mini Cooper, 2 diamond earrings, a multicoloured diamond bracelet from Sukesh. A few days ago, Jacqueline made headlines after Nora Fatehi filed a defamation case against Fernandez alleging she made defamatory allegations against her to destroy her career. However, Fernandez’s lawyer Prashant Patil clarified his client has intentions to defame Nora and that she has not spoken to any media in this regard. 

Etimes quoted Prashant Patil as saying, “Jacqueline has not made any statement in front of any electronic or print media against Nora or for that matter, any other person. She has consciously avoided talking about the Enforcement Directorate proceedings. Till date she has maintained the sanctity of law and because the matter is subjudice she has always avoided to speak in front of print and social media.”
