Jackie Shroff has been a powerful and known name within the Hindi film industry for decades now and now his son Tiger Shroff is also carrying that legacy forward while Jackie himself is still strengthening it. But that doesn’t mean that the family hasn’t faced bad situations too.

In 2003, Jackie’s wife Ayesha Shroff produced the black comedy thriller, Boom, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie, Gulshan Grover, Padma Lakshmi, Madhu Sapre, Zeenat Aman and Katrina Kaif. However, the film bombed at the box office and consequently, Jackie’s family faced a very bad financial situation. They were in a lot of debt and they even had to sell their house and furniture to keep up with the losses.

Jackie and Tiger have both earlier spoken about that phase and how the family had to struggle to pull through from that time. Ask Jackie if, during that phase, he ever thought that his kids shouldn’t continue in this field and look for some other career prospects, and he denies it. “No, I never thought that way as these things never crossed my mind.”

The actor goes on to state, “I have gone through the highs and lows of the financial aspect of this business and during the lows I have just tried to keep my head held high and return whatever was owed in the maximum capacity possible. A lot of people supported me within the industry, so the family that brought me here from the chawl and when I went down, pulled me back, that family deserves my undying support and association. This is a beautiful industry and as soldiers serve the country and give them courage, we try to entertain people’s hearts.”

Recently, the whole Shroff family moved into their new home that Tiger bought for his mother, in one of the most expensive areas of Mumbai. And Jackie is too elated and grateful to God for this situation.
