The story goes that, SRK and Varun were shooting a sequence on a day when SRK had praised David Dhawan's son all through the morning and afternoon. But as the shoot proceeded for the final scene of the day, Varun simply messed it up.

Interestingly, he didn't even realise that he had faltered. In fact, he thought that he had done a very smooth job and confidently strode with SRK to the monitor for the play-out. What lay in store was nothing but sheer embarrassment for him. He had said his dialogues in a muffed voice, and neither of the two could make out what the overlapping words meant!
Varun looked at SRK and said: Sir, one retake if you don't mind.
Without batting an eyelid, SRK replied: Don't worry, my boy. This can be corrected during dubbing time. You were not facing the camera.
A sheepish Varun retired for the day.

Says a source, "Varun was extremely surprised that SRK handled the situation so calmly. Any other senior star in SRK's place may have blown his top and made Varun go weak in his knees."

Adds the source, "SRK treated all the youngsters on the sets of Dilwale with love and care."
Dilwale starring SRK, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Boman Irani, Johnny Lever and Varun Sharma is slated to hit the theatres on December 18.
