This morning, music composer Ismail Darbar (of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas fame) was arrested by the Amboli Police.
He was later produced in the court and released on bail.
Yesterday, his 21-year old son Zaid was arrested for allegedly beating up a certain Prashamit Chaudhary who is a student at Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods (SpotboyE.com, February 3).
According to Prashamit, he worked with Ismail on a film last year and Zaid and his two friends (Nishant Singh and Mohsin Khan) beat him up when he asked money from them on Monday.
Ismail is said to have been present at the scene of the crime which was committed in the parking area of Evershine building (Jogeshwari) where Prashamit stays.
When contacted, Senior PI at Amboli Police station said, "Yes, Ismail was arrested. He was later released on bail of Rs 10,000."
Despite repeated calls and text messages, Zaid chose not to respond.
