Ever since Phantom Films have shut shop, which was stemmed from the alleged sex scandal of Vikas Bahl, there have been speculations doing the rounds about what will happen to Sacred Games 2. The popular web show was not only produced but even directed by two of Phantom's directors - Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Not only has the production company dissolved, even Sacred Games' writer Varun Grover has been accused in the ongoing #MeToo movement. He has denied the charges and many celebs who have worked with him have also stood by him.

With so many rumours about the show going around, now lead star Saif Ali Khan has finally spoken up about the shows future. Hinting towards what will happen to the new season, speaking to PTI, Saif said, “There was a terrible scandal concerning Kevin Spacey and he had a show House of Cards. The show is going on but Spacey is not there. Let that be a clue."

Taking cues from what Saif has said, it seems the show will go on air for the second season but without the people who have been accused in the scandal.



At the same time, Netflix - the distribution partner for the show - has refused to give any comment on the show's future. In a statement they said, “At this time we are evaluating options on the path forward.” No one from the ertwhile Phantom Films has commented yet on the fate of the show. Let's wait and watch what they would have to say about the Saif Ali Khan-Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Radhika Apte starrer show.
