SS Rajamouli's RRR made tremendous noise during its announcement as the filmmaker didn't get one but two big names from Bollywood to star in it. Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt came onboard RRR that will have Ram Charan and Junior NTR in the lead. However, of late, whispers were being heard in the industry that Alia has opted out of the project. This news came amidst the social media outrage against her film Sadak 2. It was also reported that Priyanka Chopra is the one to replace Alia in RRR. But is it true?
Contrary to the reports, a source from Alia's team has claimed to Pinkvilla that these reports are not true and Alia is very much a part of RRR. The source was quoted saying, "Alia is still very much a part of RRR. She is in fact prepping for the role, since she has to learn and understand Telugu. While the Covid outbreak put a temporary pause on the film's shoot, the team is currently chalking out a different schedule to start rolling with Alia."
Further, the report also has a trade analyst saying that the reports of Alia getting replaced in Rajamouli's film is a carefully planted story to damage the Raazi star's image. The trailer of Alia Bhatt's Sadak 2 recently received a negative response on social media because of the ongoing insider vs outsider debate.
Apart from Sadak 2, Alia also has Gangubai Kathiwadi helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in her kitty. She also has Karan Johar's multi-starrer Takht. There's Brahmastra too with Ranbir Kapoor.
