Siddhant Chaturvedi, who was last seen in Inside Edge, is
all set to make his Bollywood debut with Gully Boy. According to a report in a
leading daily, Siddhant has been roped in to play the second lead after Ranveer
Singh in the Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani production. Gully Boy brings
together Alia Bhatt and Ranveer on the big screen together for the first time.
Sometime ago, Alia Bhatt had taken to Instagram to inform her fans about Gully
Boy. She put out a picture where she was seen reading a couple of scripts and
captioned it, “The party is where the script is. Gully boy and Brahmastra prep
time #bestkindatime (sic).” Talking about Ranveer Singh essaying his role in to
the film, rapper Divine said, "He's a cool guy and already dresses like a
rapper so he needs no tips in the fashion department from me. It is one thing
to get audiences to wake up and listen to our kind of music, which is not about
girls, gold, and drugs but about real life in Mumbai. But it is an even greater
thing when mainstream actors like Ranveer chose to be a Gully Boy. He's now a
part of our movement."
A few weeks ago, SpotboyE.com brought to you, pictures of Ranveer Singh where he was seen attending rapping workshops and interacting with real-life rappers. Not only this, he also engaged in a rap battle with professionals and seems to have picked up the art rather well.
Gully Boy is a coming-of-age film inspired by two
real-life rappers from Mumbai’s chawls – Rapper Divine aka Vivian Fernandes and
Rapper Naezy aka Naved Shaikh.
Talking about Siddhant, his performance in Inside Edge was much appreciated.
Let’s see if, with Gully Boy, he can strike it big in Bollywood!
