Marathi movie Court, which was selected as India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Category at the 88th Academy Awards (Marathi Film Court Goes To Oscars, September 23), is now out of the Oscars race.
The Phase I committee, consisting of several hundred Los Angeles-based Academy members, screened the original submissions in the category between mid-October and December 14. 9 feature films from around the globe have made it to the next round.

Son Of Saul (directed by Lszl Nemes, Hungary)
Viva (directed by Paddy Breathnach, Ireland)
Theeb (directed by Naji Abu Nowar, Jordan)
The final 5 nominees will be selected by specially invited committees in New York, Los Angeles and London.
The 88th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
