The film narrates his experience at Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail, where he spent approximately 63 days following his arrest on July 19, 2021, in connection with a case related to the production and distribution of pornographic content. During the trailer launch event of "UT69" in Mumbai, Raj engaged with the media and made a comment, stating, "Our country enjoys this. They say in India only two things sell, Shah Rukh (Khan) and s*x." The comment got huge support and claps from the crowd. Raj also disclosed Shilpa's initial response when he mentioned his desire to create a film about his own life. He shared, "I informed her that I had a script and awaited her response. As I turned away, a flying slipper headed toward my face. I believe she initially found the idea a bit uncertain. Perhaps she was skeptical about the film actually getting made."
