The superstar had decided
to return 50 per cent of the amount and SpotboyE.com can now tell you that the
cheques have been issued.
SpotboyE.com has it that the estimated losses made by
Tubelight amounted to Rs 65 Crore, out of which Rs 32.5 Crore will be
reimbursed. Rs 26.5 Crore has already been dispatched to the distributors in
deficit and the remaining amount has to be sent to distributors based abroad.
That amount will be transferred once the formalities surrounding foreign
exchange are done.
Salman Khan And Sohail Khan In A Still From Tubelight
Soon after it became clear that Salman’s Eid release
Tubelight was not setting the box-office on fire, the crestfallen distributors
of the film had gathered at Salman's Bandra home looking for answers.
Salim Khan had then upfront told the distributors: “I
know mere bete ki picture se aapko bahut loss hua hai. My COO will look into
the matter and we will do the needful.”
Many people from the trade
had felt that the Khan-daan may not honour their commitment since they had not
spelt out the extent of compensation they would offer.
