IIFA 2023 was a star-studded affair with many renowned celebrities attending the prestigious award ceremony. The 22nd edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards, hosted by Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan was held at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on May 26 and May 27. Actor Hrithik Roshan won the Best Actor award in the Male category for his performance in ‘Vikram Vedha.’ Alia Bhatt bagged Best Actor in a Leading Role (female) for Gangubai Kathiawadi. 

Producer Jayantilal Gada received the award on her behalf as she could not attend the award ceremony as her maternal grandfather, Narendra Razdan, is reportedly not well. South superstar Veteran actor Kamal Haasan received a standing ovation at IIFA 2023 as he was honoured with the award for Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema. Notably, Hindi films Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva and the biopic Gangubai Kathiawadi won big at the ceremony. Alia and Ranbir Kapoor starrer fantasy drama bagged several awards, including Best Playback Singer for Shreya Ghoshal (female) and Arijit Singh (male), as well as Best Supporting Actor (female) for Mouni Roy. Alia starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi won awards in the technical categories for cinematography, screenplay, and dialogue.
