Taking to her Instagram account, Huma cleared the air and stated that Anurag Kashyap has never misbehaved with her. She stated that he is a dear friend and a talented director. She, however, also stated that any woman who has suffered abuse should report to police and let the judiciary do its work. Huma penned that she does not believe in media trials and social media debates and hence she kept mum until now.
In the end, she wrote that this statement is her final response to the controversy. Check it out below:
It was yesterday that we had reported about Payal Ghosh filing a complaint against Anurag Kashyap at Oshiwara police station. Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Payal had claimed, "The first time I met him was at his office in Aram Nagar, Versova. The second time I met him was at his residence. We spoke in general about films and the film industry. Then he called me again to his house and this time, that is on the third occasion, he tried to force himself upon me. I did not raise an alarm but pleaded with him that he should let me go as I would return again some other time''.
