Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's film, WAR was one of the most successful films of 2019, and it created a huge uproar amongst the audience. Now, two years after its release director Siddharth Anand has confirmed to make a sequel for the film - and the production will begin next year.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Siddharth Anand spoke about the WAR sequel and also shared that he and producer Aditya Chopra have shared some thoughts on how to take it forward.

“We will hopefully start it by next year. WAR 2 is a big responsibility, and we need normalcy (to be restored) before we can dive into it,” director Siddharth Anand said.

The cast of the film, however, has still not been decided. But notably, the stars loved the experience of working in the movie, and would love to take it forward.

Tiger Shroff had once mentioned that he was even ready to be a background dancer in the sequel to the WAR song Ghungroo. The song originally featured Hrithik and Vaani Kapoor, and was loved by the audiences. It so happened that Vaani once hosted an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram, in which she was asked to share her experience of working with Tiger. The actress asked Tiger to answer on her behalf. And he wrote on Instagram stories, “Hopefully both of us come back to life for the sequel and I can be a background dancer in ghungroo 2.0 behind you and Kabir.”

Well, this had then left a lot of room for speculation.

Meanwhile, rumour has it that Prabhas is likely to star as the villain in WAR 2. Talking about the same, Siddharth Anand quipped, “I am curious [to know whether he is on board], but I don’t know whom to ask about it.”

Hrithik recently celebrated the film’s second anniversary with an Instagram post and wrote, "Miss everything about being on this set - co-working, collaborating, CREATING. #2YearsOfWar." Filmmaker Karan Johar commented on the post, “And your drop dead gorgeous intro scene! Can we take a beat to celebrate that as well.”

Tiger, who considers Hrithik as his idol, wrote, "Man i miss this! One of my best experiences going head to head with one of my idols. #2yearsofwar @hrithikroshan @_vaanikapoor_ @yrf #siddharthanand."
