With Rustom and Mohenjo Daro releasing this Friday, there have been loud whispers about a ‘clash’ between Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan.
Rumours were further fuelled when a few days ago, Hrithik commented on Bollywood supporting Rustom in a big way -- Salman Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Sonakshi Sinha… all of them shot sweet little videos to promote Khiladi Kumar’s film. When asked about it, the Krrish actor said, “It is a good thing. It’s a fraternity. If someone needs support then we must support.”
In a bid to quell the buzz about their box-office clash turning personal, Hrithik took to Twitter to promote both Rustom and Mohenjo Daro:
Akki immediately responded with a funny reply:
Mohenjo Daro, directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, is an adventure-romance set in 2016 BC, with the Indus Valley Civilisation as its backdrop. The story revolves around a simple farmer (Hrithik) coming to a great city and falling in love with a girl from high society (debutante Pooja Hegde).
Tinu Suresh Desai’s Rustom, on the other hand, has been ‘loosely inspired’ by the KM Nanavati case. The case involved Naval Commander Nanavati gunning down his wife Sylvia’s lover, Prem Ahuja. Apart from Akshay, the film also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Esha Gupta in pivotal roles.
